TruMark vs. Kingtech: A Comparison of the Accuracy of 10,000-yuan Laser Marking Machines
Through actual tests, the magazine compared the marking accuracy of two laser engravers from TruTech Technologies and Dayu Laser, both priced at around NT $ 10,000. The article analyzed the differences between the two in terms of detail handling, stability, and operating efficiency, helping users select the equipment that best suits their needs.
Why should we be concerned about the accuracy of a laser engraving machine?
For industries needing precision processing, the accuracy of the laser engraving directly determines the quality of the finished product. In particular, the mid-range equipment in the NT $ 10,000 price range has to be cost effective while at the same time satisfying basic production needs. This month we selected two popular models from TRUMPF and Dayu, and looked at their actual performance in real-world applications.
Testing equipment and experimental design.
Comparison of basic parameters.
The TruMark 3020 and the HAN'S LASER G3 are both targeted at the NT $ 100,000 market, with comparable power ratings (30-50 watts) and the ability to process a variety of materials, including metals and plastics. However, TruTech's "dynamic focus system" and Daxu's "intelligent temperature control compensation" may have a direct impact on the precision of the finished product.
Methods and samples.
In the same working environment, we used these two devices to cut 0.1 mm grid patterns, micrometer-level 2D codes, and complex logo patterns. The smoothness of the edge of the lines is measured using a scanning electron microscope, and the error of the machine after four hours of continuous operation is recorded.
Analysis of the results.
The ability to restore detail.
In the 0.1 mm line width test, the TruPulse 2000 had a 15 % lower line edge roughness than the DILAS, and especially the arc transition was much more natural. But in terms of clarity for microtype (less than 1 mm), the Big 5 fonts are outstanding, with less of a problem with strokes running together.
Long-term employment stability.
After running for four hours, the focus shift in the Trumpf laser was within ± 0.005 mm, while the Daxu laser showed fluctuations of ± 0.008 mm.However, the cooling system of the Dazhu machine is indeed effective; the temperature in the machine case is 6 degrees Celsius lower than that of the Trumpf. The Dazhu machine may have an advantage in a hot workshop environment.
Here are some suggestions.
If you're mainly doing precision mold or medical device components, TRUMPF's stability is definitely worth considering. But if you need to switch the graphic content often or have limited ventilation in the workshop, then the overall performance of Daxu may be more practical. Also, the precision of the marking is closely related to lens maintenance and material flatness. Don't just look at the machine parameters!
Frequently asked questions.
Will the accuracy of the markings decrease over time?
The life of the laser head and the wear and tear on the guide rails do affect accuracy.Trumpf recommends a laser alignment every 2000 hours, and Daxin requires regular cleaning of the cooling fan.In actual use, as long as the basic maintenance is done, the precision can be ignored for three years.
Does software compatibility affect actual operations?
Both machines support the most popular design file formats. However, TruPrint's user interface is not very user-friendly, and requires users to become accustomed to the menu logic.HAN'S CAD, which comes with batch processing capabilities, is suitable for smaller factories that need quick output.
