Monthly Maintenance Checklist for Laser Marking Machines (Video Included)

It provides a monthly maintenance checklist for laser markers, covering key steps such as cleaning, inspection and calibration, and also includes video tutorials to help users prolong equipment service life and improve marking precision.Whether you're a novice or a veteran, you can use simple maintenance methods to prevent equipment failure and avoid additional repair costs.

Why do we need monthly servicing?

The laser marker is like our 'work partner,' and long-term, high-load operation will inevitably lead to a buildup of dust or wear and tear on the parts.Half an hour a month spent on maintenance can prevent unexpected shutdowns and keep the marking results more consistent. In particular, the lenses and tracks are key parts. Just a little attention can save a lot of repair costs.

Step 1: Clean the main parts.

Clean the lens and the eyepiece.

First use an air blower to blow away surface dust, then use a dust-free cotton swab soaked in alcohol to wipe in circles from the center out.Don't rub hard with a tissue, or you'll scratch the lenses. After wiping, check to see if any water marks remain.

Cleaning the rails and screws.

If the rails are covered with metal dust or oil stains, use a soft-bristle brush to sweep them off, and then spray on some rust-preventing lubricant. If you hear a squeak or squeal, it's probably because the machine hasn't been properly maintained.

Step 2: Check hardware state.

A laser tube and power cord.

First, the power is turned off and the temperature of the laser tube is checked. Then check the power cord to see if the insulation has cracked or if the cord has become loose. A bad connection is the number one cause of short circuits.

Testing the cooling system.

If the cooling fan is blocked, the computer will overheat in minutes.Shine a flashlight into the heat sink and if there is too much dust, use compressed air to blow it out.

Step 3: Software debugging and testing.

Parameter adjustment.

I open the software, and bring up the parameters I'd last used. I try a simple date stamp. If the lines are blurry or uneven, the focus and power ratio may need to be readjusted.

Emergency function test.

Emergency stop buttons and safety switches are tested at least once a month.Don't wait until the button is jammed to realize that it's not working!

(video tutorial)

The end of this article contains a 10-minute video that shows the cleaning and lubrication techniques described above. It is suggested that beginners watch and practice at the same time, stopping to follow along whenever they get stuck.

Don't forget these after you've finished.

After completing all of the steps, remember to sign and date your maintenance log.The next time the vehicle is serviced, the mechanic can simply flip through the notebook to see which parts need special attention. If you notice serious wear (for example, dents in the guide rails), it is recommended that you contact the manufacturer directly to get a new one.
